Edible news: Native Earth Teaching Farm

Rebecca Gilbert, who runs Native Earth Teaching Farm on the Vineyard and has offered to be a consultant for “Becca’s” knowledge base in Moby Rich, sent me the following e-mail earlier this week:
“greetings – I am really enjoying the nettle tops before they flower, also the lamb’s quarters which is so prolific as a weed in my garden and so nutritious that a few bites satisfy – good thing because a big pile cooks down to nothing. Also still eating violet leaves and also dock and chicory before they flower. Not everyone knows how delicious and sweetly lemony blueberry flowers are – and eating a few will not deprive you of berries. Just look inside for tiny pollinators before popping in mouth! (Voice of experience…) best, R”
